Serving her country while earning her degree

Arizona State University student Lashanda Glasgow was among five percent of more than 12,000 applicants chosen as a Presidential Management Fellow, a prestigious leadership-training program that puts graduates to work in federal agencies. Glasgow, who recently graduated from the School of Criminology and Criminal Justice, earned her master’s degree online in 18 months, garnering a 3.91 GPA. A combat medic who served in Afghanistan, Glasgow’s success comes from planning for a post-military career before she left the Army. The New Orleans native, the first in her immediate family to get a college degree, earned an undergraduate degree in homeland security from the American Military University. Her career goal is to help combat human trafficking or terrorism.
